Last Post!!

I can't believe it.

I am at the end of my pictures.

So, till Donna sends me some,
This is it.

I have covered the whole trip.

It's been fun, going back and remembering.

So here it is.
The last one.

This was my last glimpse of our buildings pool.
We were on our way up to the lobby to catch the airport transit.

Bye pool! Though we didn't sit by you often,
you still have a special place in my heart.

We got to the airport, and stood in line.
A long line.
And we were sad.
We got through security pretty fast.

It's easier to get through security in Mexico than Toronto.

Once we got on the inside,
we had a bit of time till our plane left.

So we stopped here.

Donna counting money.
Because we were perilously close to nothing.
We had just enough to pay for our drinks,
and I think we had $2 something left.

And people, this was IT.
All we had to our name.

The place we were sitting at hard large T.V.'s at every corner.
There was a lot of people sitting and watching T.V.

Why, you ask?

Because soccer was on.
You would not believe the yelling and cheering going on.
It's like Canada and hockey,
only more.
Louder.
It was cool.

So I'm taking pictures of the place we are sitting, and the soccer,
and these young punks notice,
and all pose for me to take their picture.
So I obliged.

And then we suddenly realized we had 10 minutes till our plane was supposed to leave.

Donna freaks, and we go rushing up to our gate.
It was farther than we originally thought.

I said to Donna, "Relax, the planes are always late."

She said, "Not always."

Ours was A13.

But I was right.

The flight was late.

We sat at the gate for another hour before we boarded.

And then we came home.

And that was it.

It was a wonderful trip.
I had a wonderful time with my best friend.
I will always remember it.

Thank-you Donna.

For Adeena

Europeans.

They are odd.

And apparently unable to cover their bodies with clothes.

Naked people everywhere, there was.

I have written about this before, and the comment I got was,
"I don't see any naked people in the pictures."

So, I resolved to get a picture.

But, as this was at the beginning of the week,
I didn't do it right away.

Of course.

There I was, on the last afternoon, counting down the hours till we leave,
and I remember.

"Crap! No picture of a Banana Hammock!"

So I look around the pool.

(Yes, it was that easy.)

And spot one by the bar.

This was a mild one, compared to some.

At least his butt's covered.

And it's not leopard print.

It is a good specimen.
About the same age and physic as the rest of the BH's.

Now, we were at a public pool.

And my camera is NOT small and sleek.
It is huge.

So I am trying to get the shot of this guy behind me
but the couple was very suspicious,
and kept glancing around, looking at me.

Donna would exclaim loudly,
"Oh, look at THAT bird! Did you get that one?"
And such like.
Cracked me up.
I'm snort laughing,
a) because of what I am trying to accomplish
b) because I kept being found out
c) because of what Donna was saying
d) because everyone poolside knew what I was doing.

This was the best I could do.

The wife kept shielding him.

It's okay honey.

He's aaaaall yours.

On another note,
These were way too cool.
Made of fruit and vegetables.

How artistic is this!?

And this you saw last post.

But this was my first try.

I still thought I would post it,
because
Look how darned clear that dirt and pebbles are!

Awesome.
That's me.

What was she doing?

We were walking back to our room,
and Donna noticed a pretty place to take a picture.

She was always on the lookout for good photo ops.

Any way, I stand in the location, she snaps a picture (on her camera)
and says," My turn."

And then proceeds to get stuck.

She is stuck. Can't get in or out.
And I, the good friend I am,
Take pictures.
Of course.

She's like, "How did you do this?"
But I'm laughing so hard I can't answer.
I'm like, "Do you want me to get a Pool-Boy?
Or smash the pot?"
But, she finally extricates herself.
Took about 5 minutes.

And this is the sought after shot.
She was right, it is a pretty location with all the foilage.

And then......
She had to get out.
And got stuck again.
Not for as long though.
Although, that cactus bit her butt.

And at the pool that day there were these:

Remember I said that photographers would bring wildlife for photo ops?

Well, this day it was Macaws.
And they were cool.

Trying out the close-up setting.
These were tiny flowers.

And that's it for today.

Over and out.

The Last Day

Wow.
I can't believe we are on the last day.

There's only a few posts left.

It's sad really.
It's been fun going back and remembering.

This is really a random post.

As we walked around I took pictures.

These beauties were on the front desk of the lobby.

There were fresh flowers every day.
But these. These were spectacular.

Donna havin' a snooze.

We were actually enthralled with these pillows.
They were hand embroidered.

Yep. Me snuggling with the pillows.

Like my cover-up?
10 bucks.
I love it.

Check out this detail.
This type of embroidery was what was on the Mayan village ladies dresses.
And the table cloths.
Stunning.

And now, of course, random plant pictures.

It blew my mind to see flowering bushes in December.

And they were so pretty!

Close up of a palm tree.

This is a "Fan Palm."

Just a landscaped area on the path to our room.

This was a tree, but the seeds looked like peas!

And another flowering bush.

This is our balconey.

Hello Balconey!
I miss you terribly.
And the mornings and evenings we spent together.....

That's it for this time.

Gotta save some for the rest of the week!!

But here's a teaser for tomorrow:

What IS she doing?

Aaarrrrrgh Matey's!

We be PIRATES!!

This was Saturday night, our last night in Mexico :(

It was sooo much fun.
Incredibly entertaining.

If you are ever in Cancun, you must go on the Pirate ships.

Kids would love it, but a lot of the humour is for adults.
Kinda like the Emporers New Groove.

Fun for all!!

We are standing in line, waiting to board our ship.
These were real Spanish Galleons,

The show was called, "Captain Hook."
There were four ships, each with a different colour.
Go RED!

The pictures in this post aren't that great
it was dark, and my camera hates dark.

Each of the ships were lit up like a Christmas Tree.

Quite the sight.

Donna in line.
This is actually when I realized we were waiting in the wrong line.

We got our butts in the right line, and this cute little Mexican
came around to see if we wanted a cuban cigar.
Donna did, but I wouldn't let her.

Guess who that is?

These little guys in the ships were entertainment.
We waited in line for quite awhile, but there was entertainment the whole time.
It flew by.
And was actually very funny.

A photo op.
We didn't get our pics with the skulls.
We wanted to keep our spot in line.

Our ships bum.

Lights everywhere.

We have to walk the plank!!
On board.

See the pirate?
He was the funniest one.
He was the first mate.

More pirates.

We were on the Black Pearl.
See?

The first mate.
Funny

Our captain.
Donna thought he was the hottest thing.

The first mate cracking himself up while explaining the safety procedures.

We had a girl pirate too.
She came up to my waist.

Capitan Hook and the first mate examining the treasure.

This is the black hole of pictures.

I have absolutely no pics of the whole show they did, or of the meal.

I had a meal made especially for me.
Steak, Lobster, and Salad.

It was awesome, and didn't hurt me at all!!

It was funny too, how hard it was to walk at first.
We were floating out on the Caribbean, and the movement of the waves made it quite hard to walk.

They got us all to stand, and then to dance the Macarena.
After that, we were good.

There was also unlimited free drinks, as there is everywhere else in Mexico.

I made a dent in their Tequila supply.

So, there was lots of laughter and entertainment.

I can't even explain it, 'cause it was just hilarious dialogue.

After our meal, we saw green lights approaching the Starboard side!

The Flying Dutchman!

Our brave Capitan (Cap-ee-tan) scaled the side to confront the challengers.

It's Davey Jones!!

He stole our Captains Treasure, (Mainly Rum)
And we want it back!

So there Davey!
Tell us where your locker is.

This little Mexican wasn't mexican at all.
He was from LA.
He was our waiter.
And really stank at it.

They boarded our ship, and the brave First Mate challenged the intruder.

Sword fighting....

Get him, First Mate!

Then it was the Captains turn.

Booo green ship! Boooooo!

The Capitan took on Jack Sparrow.

This guy leaned in right at the wrong time.
Bad Pirate!

This guy waved his flag at the wrong time.

Bad Guy!

This Flying Dutchman Pirate climbed his mast,
And proceeded to hurl insults at us.

So, we shot him with our cannon.
And he plunged to his death to the deck (net) below.

We trounced the Dutchman, and she skulked off into the night.

Bye Losers!!!

After that final battle, the DJ started playing the music louder,
and little she-pirates job was apparently to not let anyone NOT dance.

She would grab anyone not dancing, drag them to the dance floor,
and get them dancing.

It was fun.
Good DJ, good songs,
and we sailed into port.

As we were leaving I told the Capitan that Donna drooled over him all night.
So, he let me take their picture.
I'm sure Donna blew it up to a 40"x40" and hung it over her bed.

Great night.
